  i pioneered and was a missionary for 20 years.. i brought 1 person in.. he is still a witness i hear, i haven't been able to find him though.. and you?.

  i had a couple of pretty good ones, i thought.. my first one was theocratic news.

  i know a lot of congregations that did this one.

  we had a long table facing the audience, and we gave the "theocratic news" from the km as if it were a tv news broadcast.

  Disturbing Armageddon Picture On Pg.18 of This week's JW only Watchtower

  it shows people running away crying, and fire balls coming from heaven, with angels firing arrows at them.. i really don't think this kind of picture is neccesary.. i don't know how to paste a picture here, i'd appreciate if someone could do it for everyone to see what i am talking about.. .

  i always used to find the armageddon pictures troubling, especially as a young child. Looking back now i can see exactly why i didn't leave the truth until my balls dropped, i was scared shitless of dying like the 'evil' people in those illustrations.

  I can understand how someone with a limited understanding of cosmology (most of us really) may conclude that there needs to be some sort of creator (although i don't make that conclusion myself), but jumping straight for Jesus because you feel life is mysterious = dumbass move.

  from what i can tell, there was some discussion out here on this article about a month ago, but at that time few folks had their copy to look at (we just received it last week at our hall).

  now that most jw's have their copy, there has been a lot of discussion about it - at least here, that is.

  as was mentioned already, this is definitely a follow up to the 5/1/07 qfr "when does the callling of christians to a heavenly hope cease?

  Sorry, but someone who thinks they are one of 144,000 chosen people who are to go to heaven with an immortal soul and rule with Jesus isn't likely to be overflowing in the common sense department.

  Your jw & archeology, history, science shows......

  do any of you have this problem?

  first i should mention that i am not one of the penispeople so i rarely get to handle the remote control.

  that said, my jw drives me crazy, if we are watching something interesting and it conflicts with jw dogma he will change the channel.

  It's annoying for me because i have an immense interest in evolution & frequently watch programs about it, it doesn't go down too well in the house i live in :(
